Last Time Out
No. 54 Columbia is currently riding an eight match-winning streak, including a 6-1 win over local rival St. Johns last week. As luck would have it, the last time Columbia lost this season was to Harvard, in the finals of the ECAC team championships. But the Lions have notched significant wins in the weeks since then, and it's a different Columbia team taking the court this weekend. The Lions sit at the top of the Ivy League, 1-0 in league play, and 11-3 overall.
Scouting the Crimson
Harvard is perennially one of the best teams in the Ivy League. The Crimson have clinched at least a share of an Ivy League title five out of the last ten years. But with the focus on this year, Harvard has struggled as of late. Recently, they dropped a tough 4-3 loss to Binghamton, who is 16-1 on the season. Binghampton's lone loss came to Columbia earlier this year. Overall, the Crimson are 9-8. This will be the first league match of the season for Harvard.
Scouting the Big Green
Dartmouth is 9-6 at this point in the season, and they're another team that Columbia saw at ECACs. Last time the two teams faced off, Columbia notched the easy 6-1 win. The Lions will be looking to repeat that feat this weekend, as Dartmouth comes to the Dick Savitt Tennis Center.
Up Next
Ivy League play continues for the Lions, but on the road next week. Columbia will travel to Brown and Yale, Friday, April 9 and Saturday, April 10. Both matches are scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
