NEW YORK - Columbia returns to Robert K. Kraft Field on Saturday, October 8 to meet Sacred Heart for the first time.  Saturday's forecast calls for sunny skies and a high of 74 degrees at game time.

Game time is at 12:30 p.m. and it is Take a Kid to the Game Day.  Entering its 16th year with NCAA Football, the Take a Kid to the Game program provides NCAA member institutions with an opportunity for community outreach as it introduces area youth to its athletics programs, or the college and university itself.

The Lions enter the game at 0-3, looking for their first win of the season, as Columbia enters a stretch when it plays four of its next five games at home.  Sacred Heart has won two straight games to even its record at 2-2 on the season.

Tickets for Saturday's game are available online or by calling the athletics ticket office at 888-LIONS-11.  Those who cannot make it to Robert K. Kraft Field can follow all the action online at gocolumbialions.com with Jerry Recco and Sal Licata providing the call.

THE SERIES
Columbia will play Sacred Heart for the first time in school history. This is the Lions' second game this year against a new opponent after the home opener vs. Albany.

A.J. IS O.K.
Against Princeton, senior defensive back A.J. Maddox returned an interception for his first career touchdown to put Columbia on the board in the first quarter. Maddox added 10 tackles, six solo stops, and a fumble recovery in the game.

HAVE SOME
Paul Havas has scored a touchdown in consecutive games, after catching his first career touchdown vs. Albany.  Against Princeton, Havas scored on a 28-yard strike from Sean Brackett.

COMING HOME
The Columbia-Sacred Heart game marks the first of four home games in five weeks for the Lions.  Columbia is 5-3 in its last eight games on Robert K. Kraft Field.

SCORE MORE
With Sean Brackett's two touchdown passes vs. Princeton, he moved into fifth place all-time in Columbia's record books with 28 career passing touchdowns. Brackett needs just two more to pass Columbia greats Archie Roberts and Gene Rossides, who are tied for fourth with 29.  Columbia's all-time leader is John Witkowski who finished his Columbia career with 56.

AFTER THE FACT
Luke Eddy booted his 35th PAT vs. Princeton.  He needs just six more extra points to break into the top five all-time in Columbia history.

LAST TIME OUT FOR COLUMBIA
Princeton used 227 yards of rushing offense to defeat Columbia 24-21 at Princeton Stadium.  The loss snapped Columbia's two-game win streak vs. the Tigers.

LAST TIME OUT FOR SACRED HEART
Sacred Heart knocked off Northeast Conference rival Central Connecticut State on Saturday afternoon as the Pioneers outscored the Blue Devils 23-3 in the second half to win by a score of 37-24.

HAUSCHILDT NAMED SEMIFINALIST FOR NFF NATIONAL SCHOLAR-ATHLETE AWARD
Columbia senior football captain Bob Hauschildt was named a semifinalist for the 2011 National Football Foundation National Scholar-Athlete Awards, presented by Fidelity Investments®, a leading provider of not-for-profit workplace retirement savings plans in higher education. Last year, Hauschildt was awarded the Class of 1913 Football Cup, awarded annually to the member of the Columbia football squad, in his junior or senior season, who achieves the best scholastic average. Hauschildt is a two-year starter on the Lions' offensive line and was chosen as one of four captains prior to the start of the 2011 campaign.

HAMILTON DELIVERS
