Patterson Named Nominee for All-State Good Works Team

NORTHBROOK, Ill. – Columbia junior defensive lineman Keller Patterson has been named a nominee for the 2026 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team, recognizing college football student-athletes who demonstrate outstanding commitment to community service, academic achievement and athletic excellence. Patterson is one of 162 nominees nationwide and one of 49 nominees representing the FCS, Division II, Division III and NAIA levels.
Since January 2025, Patterson has dedicated his time to Cathedral Community Cares, where he has worked alongside Volunteer and Outreach Coordinator Vanesas Greco to serve individuals and families in need. During the academic year, he volunteers approximately two hours each week.
In the summer, he commits 40 hours per week to the organization.
At Cathedral Community Cares, Patterson sorts and organizes children's books to improve accessibility, support literacy initiatives and create an engaging learning environment. He also helps distribute clothing and essential toiletry items to underserved community members, supporting their basic needs while promoting dignity and comfort.
Patterson's impact extends beyond the community and into the classroom. He earned Dean's List recognition during the Spring 2025 and Spring 2026 semesters.
On the field, Patterson has developed into one of Columbia's most dependable defensive players. The native of Keller, Texas, appeared in 20 games in his first two seasons and was named Ivy League Rookie of the Week after helping the Lions upset Lafayette in week one of the 2024 campaign. During the 2025 season, he started all 10 games and recorded 26 tackles, including a season-high seven at Princeton.
The Allstate AFCA Good Works Team recognizes college football student-athletes who make meaningful contributions in their communities while excelling academically and athletically. The 2026 team will be announced in September and will feature 22 student-athletes selected by a panel of former Good Works Team members, coaches, journalists and community leaders.
