HISTORY LESSON
Today marks the 94th meeting between the two historic programs, dating back to 1878. Penn holds a 71-21-1 edge over Columbia in the series, and has won 17 straight contests.
PENN'S STATUS
The Quakers have compiled an 0-4 record thus far in 2014, most recently losing on the road at Fordham, 60-22. This is the only shared opponent for Penn and Columbia, with the Lions also falling to the Rams in the season opener. Penn opened up with a loss at Jacksonville, 34-31, before falling to cross-town rival Villanova, 41-7. In its only Ivy League contest of the year, Penn fell to Dartmouth on the road, 31-13.
McDONAGH DELIVERS
Junior Trevor McDonagh came up big in the second half at Monmouth, coming off the bench. The St. Louis native tallied four second half touchdowns through the air, finishing the game 24-for-43 with 276 yards.
HOLME FINDS A HOME
In his first game in Columbia blue, Alexander Holme did not disappoint against Monmouth. The first-year linebacker was active on the defensive end of the ball, wrapping up eight tackles, including one for a three-yard loss, and forcing a fumble. Holme's eight tackles was the third most on the team, with Gianmarco Rea and Toba Akinleye both adding nine.
CONNORS CATCHES
Last Saturday, junior Chris Connors put together his best game since his first season at Columbia. The wide receiver was McDonagh's favorite target, grabbing seven balls for 84 yards, including a 10-yard touchdown, his first of the season.
BRISCOE GETS SIX
A first-year caugh his first score last weekend at Monmouth, when Marcus Briscoe hauled in a 34-yard strike from McDonagh in the fourth quarter. The catch was one of two on the day for Briscoe, who finished with 41 yards receiving.
BROTHER FROM ANOTHER
The next two weeks, two sets of parents will be forced to make difficult Saturday decisions when their sons' will be facing off against each other. The Schwartz family will be first when Roy Schwartz will battle his twin brother, Matt, who is a senior fullback at Penn. The Flores family has a week until Charlie Flores squares off with his brother, Jacob, who is a junior offensive lineman at Dartmouth.
PINNING THEM DEEP
One of the top punters in the Ivy League will be on display today, as Cameron Nizialek suits up for Columbia. The sophomore brings a 40.1-yard average into the game, while the Lions have done a great job covering his punts. Columbia has a net punting average of 37.6, which is third in the conference, and 15th in the FCS.
TACKLING TOBA
Through four games, Toba Akinleye has put on a show at defensive end, leading the team in four defensive categories. The junior is the top Lion in tackles (35), tackles for a loss (3.5), sacks (2.0), and fumble recoveries (2).
FOURTH DOWN SUCCESS
Columbia kept the chains moving twice on both fourth down attempts last time out against Monmouth. On the season, Columbia is the best team in the Ivy League on fourth down, converting 4-of-5 attempts. The 80 percent conversion rate puts the Lions second in the FCS.

Adams joined the Houston Texans off of waivers at the end of training camp, but has yet to suit up this season. Martin has been active in all five games in 2014 for the Kansas City Chiefs and has totaled five tackles on the year.
