CAMBRIDGE, MASS. – The Columbia women's volleyball team (7-14, 5-7 Ivy) was unable to spark its offense against first-place Harvard on Saturday night as the Crimson Tide took a 3-0 sweep over the Lions to mark their final road game of the regular season.
Trailing 13-9 in the first set, the Columbia offense began to fight behind the strong attack of Kesi Neblett, sparking a 4-0 run to force Harvard to call a timeout as the Lions pulled within one at 13-12.
Unfortunately the timeout paid off as the Crimson Tide came out of the 75-second break on fire, claiming the first set, 25-18.
From that point on, the Lions would not see a lead as the Crimson Tide went on to take the next two sets, 25-18 and 25-15, respectively.
Neblett was the steady hand for the Lions throughout the match, finishing with four kills and a pair of blocks with a .308 attacking percentage after not committing any attacking errors.
Columbia will round out the 2015 season next weekend as they return home to New York to host Penn (Nov. 13) and Princeton (Nov. 14).
