Lancaster, Pa. - The indoor season continues to shine bright for the Columbia archery team as they put together another dominating performance at the Pennsylvania Indoor States on Saturday Feb.20. In a field of 36 collegiate archers, the Lions placed a combined 11 archers in the top-10 of both the recurve and compound divisions.
For the second-consecutive tournament, Joy Chang led all competitors in the recurve. Chang posted a new personal-best score of 549 to capture the victory. Jenny Han finished with a runner-up tally of 533, while Tiffany Kim placed third at 527, Aileen Yu in fourth-place at 523 and Bianca Gotuaco in fifth place at 509 as the Lions swept the top five of the recurve.
Judy Zhou remains unbeaten in the collegiate compound this season following another victory on Saturday with a first-place score of 566. In second-place was Elizabeth Gunawan with an impressive score of 558, edging Julie Hoffmann's third-place tally of 556. Katherine Alfaro picked up a fifth-place finish at 546 along with Alexis Heller whose score of 546 marks a personal-best score for the sophomore. Victoria Lai also collected a total score of 542 for seventh place for the Lions.
Up next, Columbia will gear for the Indoor National Championships set to take place in Harrisonburg, Virginia on Friday, March 11.
