Trio of Meets This Weekend for Track & Field

Watch: Armory Invitational
NEW YORK – The Columbia track & field teams will take part in three meets this weekend, as the indoor season is starting to heat up.
The Lions are currently under way in the Metropolitan Championships, as Kelli Martindale claimed sixth place in the pentathlon, the lone Thursday event. The sophomore had the second best shot put among the field at 10.51m, and the fourth best long jump at 5.09m.
The Mets Championships will continue today at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island.
Friday and Saturday will also feature the Armory Track & Field Invitational, which will be streamed live on Runnerspace.com. The event will get under way Friday morning, with the 3K run up first, as five Columbia women will compete.
While the Armory Invitational runs into Saturday, another meet will see Columbia competitors in the Villanova Invitational. That meet will also take place in Staten Island at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.
