NEW YORK – The Columbia men's tennis team looks for their third straight Ivy League title this weekend, with Princeton and Penn standing in the way.
The No. 25 ranked Lions hold a one match lead in the Ivy League, with just two matches remaining in conference play. Last weekend, Columbia breezed to a pair of wins at Brown and Yale, helping the Lions to remain the lone undefeated team in the conference.
Two more victories this weekend would not only secure the third Ivy League title in as many seasons, but also the fifth for Columbia in eight years.
No. 25 Columbia vs. No. 46 Princeton – Friday, April 15 – 2 pm
Princeton climbed the rankings all spring, soaring as high as No. 34 before being tripped up twice last weekend. The No. 46 Tigers will look to bounce back after dropping matches to Dartmouth and Harvard. Columbia has won the last four meetings in the series, including a 5-2 victory on the road a season ago.
No. 25 Columbia at Penn – Sunday, April 17 – 1 pm
Penn sits at 2-2 in Ivy League play, earning victories against Yale and Brown in its first weekend of conference play, before falling on the road against Harvard and Dartmouth. The last nine outings in the series have gone Columbia's way, including a 7-0 sweep of the Quakers at home last season.
