Other Columbia ties to the Rio Games
Andy Barth '83CC & Kyra Barry '87CC
Columbia alums Andrew Barth and Kyra Barry are serving USA Wrestling as Team Leaders through the Rio Olympics. Barry is helping out with the women's freestyle team while Barth has given a hand to the men's freestyle team. The pair provide support, encouragement and leadership to the athletes. Barry, a former soccer player for the Lions, was named the USA Wrestling Woman of the Year in April for her outstanding contributions to the sport.
Dalen Cuff '06CC
Former men's basketball standout Dalen Cuff is on his first Olympic assignment with NBC Sports and will serve as a reporter in Rio. Cuff, who broke into the industry as an analyst for the Lions' digital broadcasts in 2006, serves as a color commentator for NBC Sports Network and is an anchor for Comcast SportsNet New England.
Juliet Macur '92BC
Macur, a New York Times columnist since 2013, competed for the women's rowing team. She has covered the Olympics and Olympic sports, doping and legal issues since 2004.
Ann Marsh-Senic '93CC
Marsh-Senic was a three-time All-American in women's foil at Columbia and competed in three Olympics (1992, 1996, 2000). In Rio, she will serve as team captain for USA Fencing. Akhnaten Spencer-El
Columbia Fencing will be featured in more ways than one at the Olympic games, as sabre coach Akhnaten Spencer-El will join the U.S. Fencing coaching staff. Previously, Spencer-El represented the United States in the 2000 Olympics and served as the U.S. Women's National Team Sabre Coach for the 2011 Pan-Am Games.
Sarah Bernstein '15CC
Former archery standout and member of the 2015 Nation Champion team, Sarah Bernstein is on Olympic assignment in RIo for USA Archery as a publicist covering Team USA.
