PRINCETON, N.J. - Junior forward Arthur Bosua has been named the Ivy League Men's Soccer Player of the Week for his efforts against two Big Ten opponents over the weekend.
Bosua scored in the first two games of 2016, helping Columbia to a 1-0 win over Michigan in the season opener. On Friday against the Wolverines, the Dix Hills, New York, native found the back of the net after teammate Dylan Mott's cross connected to the forward the 62nd minute, giving the Lions a season opening win for the third straight year.
In East Lansing, Michigan on Monday, Bosua added an assist to teammate Andrew Tinari for the first score of the game at Michigan State, as the Spartans would rally to top the Lions, 2-1.
This is the third time in his career that Bosua has picked up weekly conference accolades, as the forward was twice the recipient of the Ivy League Rookie of the Week in 2014.
Columbia (1-1) will host its first home game of the season this weekend at Manhattanville College, when Central Connecticut (0-1-1) visits GoValiants.com Stadium in Purchase, New York.
