Earning Second Team honors for Columbia were senior linebacker Sean White and sophomore punter Drew Schmid. Columbia's honorable mention picks include junior center Parker Coogan, senior wide receiver/wildcat quarterback Kyle Castner, senior defensive lineman Mike Hinton and senior defensive back Landon Baty.
The All-Ivy League Team and yearly football awards are picked and voted upon by the conference's eight head football coaches. The entire team is posted below.
On Saturday, Columbia completed its 2018 season with a 6-4 overall and 3-4 Ivy League record despite overcoming injuries and season-ending injuries to over 25 key players. The Lions registered back-to-back winning seasons for the first time since 1961 and 1962. In addition, its six overall victories rank among the top-five season win totals since 1956.
Defensive lineman Daniel DeLorenzi set Columbia's record for most sacks in a season with 9.5 in 2018. He becomes the only player in the history of Columbia Football to lead the Ivy League in sacks (9.5). In addition, the Cedar Grove, N.J. native ranked No. 12 nationally in sacks per game (0.95) and No. 2 in the conference in tackles for loss (1.05 per game). He had a career-best 2.5 sacks in two different games: at Georgetown (Sept. 22) and at Brown (Nov. 10). In his three-year career, DeLorenzi has totaled 15.0 sacks for 88 yards, 19.5 tackles for loss for 103 yards and 69 total tackles (36 solo) in 27 games played.
