Squash Preps for First Weekend of Regular Season

The No. 3 men and No. 7 Women squads prepare to face Williams, Virginia and Cornell this weekend
NEW YORK- The Columbia Squash programs are preparing for a busy opening weekend ahead. This Friday the squads head up to Williams College for a 4:30 match time. The Lions then head back home for two home matches against University of Virginia on Saturday and Cornell on Sunday. Both home matches begin at 12 p.m. at SL Green StreetSquash.
The Lions start off the season high in the national rankings. The men rank no. 3 and the women are no. 7 in the CSA preseason poll. Williams College's men are ranked No. 21 and the women no. 13. Virginia's men's and women's squads are No. 13 and No. 12 respectively, and Cornell starts the season with No. 15 ranking for the men and No. 8 for the women.
2017-18 in Review:
Both the men's and women's squads had historic seasons last year. The Men's squad took home the Ivy League title, the first in program history, and completed the season as the No. 3 in the country after beating St. Lawrence in the 3/4 match at the Men's Championship. The women's team finished No. 7 in the nation, the highest finish in program history, and notched a 10-7 record over the regular season.
