The Lions completed the 2018 campaign in Cambridge where they fell to the Ivy League Champion Crimson

CAMBRIDGE, N.J. – No. 6 Harvard closed its regular season with a 6-0 win over the Columbia field hockey team Saturday afternoon. The Lions finish the 2018 season with an 8-9 overall record and a 2-5 mark in Ivy League play. The Crimson (16-1) completed a perfect Ancient Eight season and earned the outright Ivy League championship and will head to the NCAA Tournament.

Columbia held Harvard in check in the early stages of the contest, but the Crimson broke through on its first shot of the game to take a 1-0 lead in the 10^th minute. Olivia Allin finished on a penalty corner to put Harvard in front.

Maddie Earle had a role in the Crimson's next two scores of the half to give her team a 3-0 advantage at the midway point. She assisted on a Rachel Greenwood tally in the 29^th minute and then scored with 2:10 left in the period.

The Lions' first corner of the game came moments later, and after their initial shot was blocked, the ball was loose in front. A Harvard defender was able to get there just in time before a follow up attempt to maintain its cushion at the break. Columbia also chances at the start of the second half, but Ellie Shahbo turned away a pair of shots to keep the momentum on the Crimson's side.

Earle set up a Natalie Sicher goal in the 46^th minute and Harvard tacked on two more in the 58^th and 68^th minutes.
