Men's, Women's Squash Sweeps George Washington

Both Columbia Squash teams shutout George Washington on the road Sunday
WASHINGTON- Columbia men's and women's squash marked their first shutouts of the season against George Washington on the road Sunday.
Men's recap:
This season's consistent Position No.1, Velavan Senthikumar marked 11-9, 11-9, and 11-8 on the match against George Washington's Saim Khan. Senthikumar's success was followed up by a strong performance by Carter Robitaille in position No. 4 who completed an easy 11-1, 11-1, 11-9 match against the Colonial's Juan Sebastian Laguna.
Women's Recap:
Senior Lion, Maddie O'Connor, found herself in a back-and-forth match against Zoe Foo Yuk Han for the Colonials. O'Connor took home the win after a 13-15, 11-7, 2-11, 11-7, 11-5 matchup against the opposing position No. 1. Julia Masch found herself making quick work of the competition in position No. 7, as she finished 11-2, 11-7 and 11-5 games over Aarushi Lakhotia.
NEXT UP
The Lions return home for a three-match weekend to start off February. Columbia hosts Drexel Friday afternoon at 2 p.m., Yale at noon on Saturday and Brown to follow at noon on Sunday. All three matches will be held at SL Green StreetSquash Center in Harlem.
