Squash To Face Drexel, Yale, Brown This Weekend

NEW YORK- Columbia squash hosts a trio of matches this weekend. The Lions will first host Drexel at 2 p.m. on Friday, followed by Yale on Saturday and Brown Sunday. Both of the weekend day matches begin at noon at SL Green Streetsquash.
Last weekend, Columbia squash marked its first shutout of the season against No. 15 George Washington on the road, improving the men's record to 4-4, and the women to 5-3. Both men's and women's squads are currently ranked No. 7 on the Dunlop College Squash rankings.
Last Season: Men
The Lions found success against Drexel, Yale and Brown last season. Columbia headed to Philadelphia early in the season to face the Dragons, bringing home an early win 7-2 winning the top seven positions in the match. Later in the season, the men's squad headed up to face Brown and Yale, claiming two more wins to their season record. Currently on the men's courts, Drexel is ranked No. 13, Yale is No. 6 and Brown sits at No. 20.
Last Season: Women
The women took home wins against Drexel and Brown last season. The Lions flew past the Dragons on the road in November of last year, marking a 6-3 win on the road. In last season's win against Brown, the Lions took home wins in eight positions, seven of whom will return to this week's match including Maddie O'Connor in position No. 1 and Nicole Kendall in position No. 2. Columbia women's squash did fall to Yale last February, 4-5. Currently in the Dunlop College Women's Squash Rankings, Drexel is No. 8, Yale is No. 5, and Brown is No. 11.
This is the second-to-last homestand for the Lions, as they head out on the road next weekend to face Princeton on February 8, and return home to Harlem to take on Penn on February 10.
