Columbia men's swimming and diving continues its three-meet homestand on Saturday at 1 p.m.
NEW YORK — After two wins in the season-opening weekend, the Columbia men's swimming and diving team returns to Percy Uris Natatorium on Saturday to face the Yale Bulldogs at 1 p.m. ET.
The Lions are 2-0 on the young season, including a 1-0 mark in Ivy League duals, after posting back-to-back victories over Army and Penn last weekend.
In the conference opener against the Quakers, Columbia showed its versatility and depth, using eight different student-athletes to garner eight individual victories as well as posting wins in both relay events. Lion freshmen post three of those wins, with diver Ben Blizard winning the 1-meter board, Ray Yang claiming the 200-yard butterfly and Eugene Li taking the 100 freestyle.
Columbia's returns also contributed heavily, with senior Nian-Guo Liu highlighting the meet by resetting his own pool record in the 200 free with a mark of 1:36.95. Additionally, fellow senior Cole Stevens won the 100 backstroke and junior transfer Baptiste Leger clocked a winning time in the 200 back. Rounding out the winners were junior Albert Gwo in the 50 free (20.05) and sophomore Jonas Kistorp in the 100 fly (49.32).
SCOUTING YALE
