No. 6 Lion Women Sweep No. 13 Williams Women: No. 7 Men Defeat No. 20 Williams Men

The Columbia Squash teams find success against the Williams Ephs
NEW YORK – The No. 6 Women's squash team dominated No. 13 William's women this evening with a clean sweep winning, 9-0. The No. 7 Men's team followed up with the last match point over No. 20 William's men to solidify overall victory for the Lions, winning 8-1.
"Solid performances from each side. I am very happy with the outcome, today was a great match day" said Assistant Coach Christopher Sachvie.
HOW THE WOMEN FINISHED: Starting the matches off strong, junior player No. 7 Jane Pincus played smooth game against Alexandra Pear winning the first game, 11-2. She then finished off the set winning two games, 11-4. No. 8 Doria Chen played a tough match up against Mira Kamat, winning each game by two points. No. 6 Cynthia Cao glided through her first game against Kathryn Wright grabbing the point, 11-3. In the next two games she pulled through with the final points for the Lions winning the match, 11-8, 11-5. No. 3 Erica McGillicuddy competed against Melissa Swann in a easy match, 11-4, 11-4, 11-5 and No. 2 Nicole Kendall competed against Haley Jefferson and played clean games without dropping a single match. Seniors Habiba Mohamed and Jui Kalgutkar rallied for four games both dropping the first match, 8-11 and 9-11 respectively, but came back the last three games to claim the winning points.
HOW THE MEN FINISHED: On the men's side, The Lions got their wins from No. 9 Hugh Camiener who played a close first match against David Pincus, winning 12-10, competing in the second round for, 11-7, and completing the winning match point with a clean win in the third game, 11-3. No. 7 Aditya Kankariya had a clean sweep over Claude Smith, winning the first game 11-6 and the second 11-4. Kankariya battled it out with Smith to claim the match winning point in the third game, 12-10. No. 6 Rahul Sehrawat won the first game against Carl Shuck, 11-9, while dropping the second game, 7-11. Sehrawat pushed through the next two games, 11-8, 11-9, claiming the winning point for the match. No. 5 Krish Kapur had a clean sweep tonight as well defeating A.J. Solecki, 11-9, 11-5, 11-7, while No. 4 Chaitanya Shah played a great match against William Means with a clean win scoring, 11-4, 11-6, 11-3. The top finishers of the night earning the win for the Lions were No. 2 James Wyatt who knocked off Jacob Bassil in a close exciting match winning, 11-5, 11-8, 12-10 and No. 1 Callan Hall who battled Wyatt Khosrowshahi in a close game, 11-5, 11-8, 11-8, to seal the win for the Lions.
UP NEXT: The Lions head to Ithaca, New York Sunday, December 8 to compete against Cornell at noon. This will be the first Ivy League contest of the season.
