BOCA RATON, Fla.—The Columbia women's golf team opens its spring 2019 season on Sunday and Monday when it travels to Boca Raton, Fla. to compete in the Florida Atlantic Winter Warmup event hosted by FAU and played at the Osprey Point Golf Club. The teams will begin play on Sunday and conclude on Monday. Exact details and format have not been disclosed.
The Osprey Point Golf Club plays to 6,062 yards with a par of 72. More detailed information on the course is available at this link.
Teams and pairings have not yet been announced as of Friday morning (11:30 a.m.)
The invitational marks Columbia's first competition of the spring season. During the fall portion of the academic year, first-year Alexis Florio led the Lions in stroke average with a 76.00 per round average while senior Amy Ding was right behind with a 76.10 average. Both golfers finished in the top-25 in two invitationals apiece. First-year Jennifer Wang, who averaged a 76.90, shot a team-low round of 71 and led the Lions with two under par/par rounds. Also contributing were junior Emily Chu (78.33), first-year Marlene Tartaro (79.90) and sophomore Katie Lee (80.28). As a team, Columbia averaged 304.5 strokes per round.
