PRINCETON, N.J. — The Columbia women's swimming and diving team wrapped up the 2019 Ivy League Championships with some impressive performances on Saturday evening in Princeton, New Jersey. The Lions finished seventh in the team standings with 701.5 points.
Â
"It's been a great season," said Columbia head coach
Diana Caskey following the conclusion of the meet. "Our final Ivies session wasn't what we needed to break into sixth place, but there were many bright spots and it doesn't diminish all the successes of the dual meet season and outstanding championship performances."
Â
After qualifying in yesterday afternoon's 3-meter preliminary round, first-year
Briget Rosendahl improved her score by over 30 points to earn the Ivy League silver medal with a score of 299.85. After leading the whole way, the first-year was just edged by less than five points in the final round.
Â
"What a performance! Briget was at her best when it counted most," said diving coach
Scott Donie. "It was very emotional and exciting for me as a coach. It is so rewarding to see hard work and pertinacity pay off. I couldn't have asked for anything more than she gave tonight."
