Track and Field Claims Three Titles at Penn Challenge

Lions open outdoor track and field season in Philadelphia as Iman Sule wins women's 200-meter dash, Lucky Schreiner wins 1,500-meter run and women's 4x400-meter relay wins event.
PHILADELPHIA, Pa.—Columbia captured three titles—Iman Sule (women's 200-meter dash), Lucky Schreiner (men's 1,500-meter run) and the women's 4x400-meter relay—as the team opened its 2019 outdoor track and field season Saturday at the Penn Challenge at Franklin Field. Sule won the 200-meter dash in 25.30, Schreiner ran a 3:53.92 to capture the 1,500-meter run and Columbia's women's 4x400-meter relay team ran a 3:51.32 to win the event.
On the women's side, other top-5 finishes included a second place finish by the Columbia's 4x400-meter relay team (3:52.05), a third place finish by Lauren Micham in the 110-meter hurdles (14.44), a fourth place finish by Maryam Hassan in the long jump (5.51m) and fifth place finishes by Hana Sun in the 2,000-meter steeplechase (7:12.48) and Brianna Hodges in the 400-meter dash (59.34).
On the men's side, Columbia also saw a second place finishes by Solomon Fountain in the 3,000-meter run (8:31.33) and Jack Pihlkar in the hammer throw (56.50m), a third place finish by Andrew Petersen in the 400-meter intermediate hurdles (56.31), a fourth place finish by Robert O'Brien in the pole vault (4.91m) and fifth place finishes by Luke Ciarelli in the high jump (1.91m) and Tiber Seireeni in the pole vault (4.61m).
Columbia's men's team finished seventh with 60 points, while the Lions' women's team finished fourth with 59 points. Competing teams in the event include Army, Bucknell, Columbia, Georgetown, George Washington, La Salle, Lehigh, Penn, Rider, St. John's (W), Temple, and Villanova.
