A QUICK LOOK AT THE LIONS
With only one senior among its eight team members, Columbia enters the 2019 Ivy League Championships as one of the youngest teams in field. All eight players have enjoyed success this year as each has totaled a top-25 performance. Updated statistics are available at this link.
This weekend, senior Amy Ding will compete in her final Ivy League Championship. In 2018-19, Ding has averaged 76.36 strokes per round and has registered four top-25 finishes and two top-10 finishes. She placed a season-best 12th in two invitationals this year including the Princeton Invite (+5, 74-75-149) and Wofford Low Country Intercollegiate (+8, 77-75-152). Over her four-year career, Ding has averaged 78.48 strokes per round (5,258 strokes in 67 rounds). She tied for 15th at last year's Ivy League Championship event and her career-low round is a 72 carded several times.
First-year Alexis Florio leads the team in scoring average at 76.07 strokes per round average over 14 rounds of action this year. She has totaled one top-5 finish and a team-best three top-10 finishes and four top-25 finishes including a sixth place finish at the Wofford Low Country Intercollegiate (+4, 75-73-148), 10th place finish at the Lady Blue Hen Invitational (+11, 74-76-74-224) and 22nd place finish at the FAU Winter WarmUp (+13, 81-76-157). Her career low round is 72 shot at the Richmond MatchUp.
First-year Jennifer Wang averages 77.00 strokes per round on the year with two top-25 finishes. Her top finish came at the FAU Winter WarmUp where she placed 12th at eight-over-par 76-76-152. Wang shot a team and career-low 71 at the Lady Blue Hen Invitational earlier this year.
Junior Emily Chu will compete in her second career Ivy League Championship this weekend. Chu has averaged 78.46 strokes per round and tallied a 17th place finish at the Wofford Low Country Intercollegiate (+5, 76-77-153).
