Amanda Cooper wins women's hammer throw at Colonial Relays and Iman Sule wins 400-meter dash at Sam Howell Invitational.

WILLIAMSBURG, Va./PRINCETON, N.J.—Columbia men's and women's track and field athletes competed at two different events this weekend: the Colonial Relays in Williamsburg, Va. and the Sam Howell Invitational at Princeton, N.J. The majority of Columbia student-athletes competed at the 54^th annual Colonial Relays held at Walter J. Zable Stadium at Cary Field at William & Mary on Friday and Saturday. There are 52 men's teams and 54 women's teams entered in the nation's largest regular season scored meet.

At the Colonial Relays, Columbia highlights were provided by Amanda Cooper, who won the women's hammer throw with a 43.60m/143-0 heave. The event was scored with team points. Columbia's women's squad finished 18^th overall with 16 points, while Columbia's men's team finished 24^th with 12 points.

Ten Columbia student-athletes traveled to Princeton, N.J. and Weaver Track & Field Stadium for Saturday's Sam Howell Invitational. The invitational was compressed into one day due to anticipated inclement weather. Iman Sule captured the women's 400-meter dash title after running a 54.42 time and also finished fourth in the women's 200-meter dash (24.33).
