NEW YORK — Columbia men's soccer head coach Kevin Anderson unveiled the program's 2019 recruiting class on Friday. The Lions have added eight members to the program, welcoming Michael Collodi, Keenan Foley, Max Gonzalez, Matthew Goodman, Jon Ned, Cyrus Siminou, Brian Timoney and Uri Zeitz.
"I want to thank our recruiting coordinator, Ken Pollard, as well as former assistant coach Luke Kelly for all of their efforts in putting together what we believe is another quality class," said Anderson, who enters his 11th year at Columbia. "We are excited about this recruiting class and feel good about the specific positional talent, character and personalities that they have – both individually and collectively. As with any transition, the adaptation to their new environment will take time. However, the returning players and staff are confident we can assist each of our newcomers to be at their best, which will allow them to find ways to contribute to our team from the onset. With only a short preseason, we will hit the ground running and not look back."
The incoming class features two goalkeepers, Collodi and Goodman, two defenders, Foley and Gonzalez, three midfielders, Siminou, Timoney and Zeitz, as well as a forward in Ned. The 2019 recruits replenish the open spots left by last year's eight graduating seniors.
