In addition, Columbia's 2018-19 women's tennis was honored with the ITA All-Academic Team award. The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale). All varsity letter winners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year (including fall 2018 and spring 2019).
In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status a player must meet the following criteria: 1.) be a varsity letter winner, 2.) have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year, and 3.) have been enrolled at their present school for at least 2 semesters (including freshman through senior year).
In singles, Rahman went 2-3 on the year, Ren finished 9-1 and Hu went 12-5 overall. Hu combined for a 15-6 doubles record and went 12-5 with partner Jennifer Kerr while playing primarily at No. 3 doubles.
Nationally ranked for most of the 2018-19 season, Columbia concluded its year with a 15-4 overall record and 4-3 Ivy League record. The Lions captured the ECAC Championship in February by defeating Yale, Penn and Princeton on consecutive days and won a school-record 12 consecutive matches midway through the season.
