Nathan Han Finishes Seventh, Lions Take Fifth at Alex Lagowitz Memorial

Han places seventh individually with a two-over-par 71-74-73-218, Lions take fifth out of 16 teams; Dan Terrell leads Lions with seventh place finish at Ryan T. Lee Memorial Collegiate.
HAMILTON, N.Y.—First-year Nathan Han placed seventh individually with a two-over-par 71-74-73-218 and Columbia finished in fifth place out of 16 teams the Lions concluded the final round at the Alex Lagowitz Memorial Invitational Sunday at the Seven Oaks Golf Club.
The weekend marked Han's first collegiate competition. He opened Sunday's final round in ninth place and proceeded to score two birdies and 13 pars over the final 18. He finished the weekend with a field-leading 41 pars and six birdies. Han, who totaled four birdies through the first two rounds, was especially impressive in the first round when he tallied three birdies, including back-to-back holes 3 and 4 for a career-low 71.
Following Han was sophomore Daniel Core, who placed 32nd with a 75-73-78-226. Amazingly, Core registered a hole-in-one during Saturday's second round on hole No. 2. He finished the weekend with seven birdies, including four in Sunday's final round.
For the second straight day, junior John Robertson moved up the standings as he went up 11 spots to finish 42nd with an 11-over-par 79-73-75-227. He stormed back in the second round as he moved up 23 spots after shooting a 73. On Sunday, Robertson tallied three birdies as he led the Lions with nine birdies on the weekend.
Junior John Youn Sung Kim and first-year Alvin Kwak both ended up in 45th place. Kim shot a 77-73-78-228, while Kwak combined for a 71-77-80-228. Playing as an individual, junior Arjun Puri placed 88th at 20-over-par 81-76-79-236.
As a team, Columbia combined to shoot a 27-over-par 294-293-304-891.
Cornell captured the team competition by three strokes after shooting at 16-over-par 286-290-304-880, while Rhode Island's Chris Francoeur topped the individual standings after shooting a seven-under par 71-70-68-209.
Hosted by Colgate, the Seven Oaks Golf Club plays to a par of 72 at 6,834 yards. The 16-team field is made up of 16 collegiate squads including Army West Point, Binghamton, Bucknell, Columbia, Connecticut, Cornell, Fairleigh Dickinson, Lafayette, Lehigh, Rhode Island, Rider, Seton Hall, St. Bonaventure, Villanova and Yale, in addition, to host Colgate.

RYAN T. LEE MEMORIAL COLLEGIATE
SIMSBURY, Conn.—Columbia completed a successful Ryan T. Lee Memorial Collegiate Sunday at the Hop Meadow Country Club in Simsbury, Conn. as the Lions combined for a second place team finish at 14-over-par 296-294-590. Columbia was led by junior Dan Terrell, who finished tied for seventh individually at one-over-par 73-72-145
Terrell finished the 36-hole invitational with five birdies and 25 pars. On Sunday, he registered three birdies on holes 2, 15 and 17.
Senior Cullen Chung finished one stroke behind Terrell in 12th place at two-over-par 73-73-146. Chung registered four pars.
Sophomore Derek Kim placed 25th overall at five-over-par 75-74-149, senior Nick Brisebos concluded the two-day event in 32nd place at six-over-par 75-75-150 and sophomore Pat Healy placed 63rd with a 12-over-par 76-80-156.
