NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The No. 10 men's and No. 8 women's squash teams competed against Yale's No. 6 men's and No. 4 women's teams on Sunday in New Haven. The women defeated Yale by a final score of 5-4. On the men's side, the Lions fell to Yale by a final score of 3-6.

With the win, the Columbia women improve to 7-1 and hold a perfect 3-0 record against Ivy League competition. The men fell to 5-3 and were handed their first league loss.
 
To start things off on the women's side, Julia Masch earned the first win against Anika Bhargava in a clean sweep. Following up behind her, Jane Pincus held a clean sweep against Jessica Yacobucci, 11-8, 11-6, 11-4. Cynthia Cao had a great performance against Alexis Lazor. She rallied for 14-12 win in the first game, and came through on the next two games, 12-10, 11-9, to sweep her match, 3-9. Bunny Fox competed against Gigi Yeung in a five-game match and dominated the tiebreak, 11-7, to win her match, 3-2. Senior Habiba Mohamed clinched the winning point for the team in her match series against Helen Teegan. In the five-game match, Mohamed came out on top winning 11-9, 11-6, 9-11, 9-11, 11-2.
 
For the men's team, Aditya Kankariya competed against Janson Chu in a four-game match, 11-5, 11-9, 7-11, 11-6. Rahul Sehrawat competed against Tyler Carney, winning the first two games before being pushed to a fourth. However, Sehrawat pulled through with an 11-4 victory in game four to win his match, 3-1. Robin Mann competed in a close match against Yale's Siow Yee Xian, going five games before getting outlasted in the fifth, 11-8, 6-11, 11-8, 5-11, 2-11.

The Lions compete against Trinity College this Thursday January 16 at noon EST.
