Matt Hall Joins Women's Swimming Staff

Head coach Diana Caskey adds Matt Hall to the staff as an assistant coach

NEW YORK — Head coach Diana Caskey announced the addition of Matt Hall to the Columbia women's swimming coaching staff on Tuesday. A nine-time NCAA Division I All-American as a student-athlete, Hall joins the Lions after spending the previous two years coaching Asphalt Green United Aquatics and as a volunteer assistant with the LIU women's swimming program.

"I'm very excited to welcome Matt to the Columbia women's swimming and aquatics' coaching staff," said Caskey. "He brings wonderful energy, a great coaching background, a keen technical eye and broad and multifaceted connections in the swim world."

In addition to working with Asphalt Green the last two years, Hall spent 2012-18 as a club coach for the Wilton Y Wahoos. He has helped produce five YMCA National Championship teams, five Olympic Trials qualifiers and 25 Junior Nationals qualifiers.

An accomplished student-athlete himself at the University of Tennessee, Hall's accolades include winning the 1997 Southeastern Conference title in the 500-yard freestyle, helping the Volunteers to a fourth-place team finish at the 1998 NCAA Championships, as well as holding the varsity team record in the 400 IM from 1997-2004. Hall also is a five-time Olympic Trials qualifier.

A 2001 graduate of Tennessee, Hall holds a bachelor's degree in communications.
