TOURNY FORMAT: The Lions will take part in the Hoehn Cup (B Division), which is a competition between the No. 9 through No. 16 teams in the country, and Columbia enters the competition as the No. 2 seed in the Hoehn Cup (making them the No. 10 team in the country entering the tournament). A win from Columbia would move them into the semis, where they will face the winner of Western Ontario and George Washington, and if the Lions take all three matches without losing, they will take the Hoehn Cup to finish No. 9 overall in the country.
The CSA breaks down the brackets into five divisions, with the Potter Cup being the top tier, and the Hoehn Cup (B Division), Summers Cup (C Division), Conroy Cup (D Division) and Chaffee Cup (E Division) making up the different levels of rankings. The CSA sets these divisions based on the regular season final rankings, with the top eight teams in the country competing for the Howe Cup.
REVIEWING THE PREVIOUS: The last time the Lions took to the court, was on senior day in the season finale on Feb. 9, where the Lions knocked off Princeton, 7-2, for a senior day win. Senior Robin Mann collected a win, while Callan Hall, Chaitanya Shah, Justin Ghaeli, Rahul Sehrawat, Aditya Kankariya and Hugh Camiener all added wins in a solid performance all-around from Columbia.
WHAT THE BEARS BRING: Columbia and Brown last met on Jan. 11, in Providence, Rhode Island, where Columbia locked up a 7-2 win at the tail end of a three-match winning streak for the Lions. Brown snapped a two-match losing streak with a win of its own, 8-1, against Tufts to wrap up their regular season on Feb. 11.
