Sophomore Michelle Lee finished seventh on platform for the Lions' highest-ever Zones finish

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The Columbia women's divers wrapped up competition at the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships at West Virginia's Aquatic Center at Mylan Park on Wednesday evening, with sophomore Michelle Lee posting the Lions' highest-ever Zones finish with a seventh-place showing on platform.

"Michelle was absolutely brilliant today," said Columbia diving coach Scott Donie. "She was really on her game. This is a very strong group of women and she proved again that she is among the best. Although it was not meant to be this year, I couldn't be prouder of her."

Lee was just two spots from qualifying for the NCAA Championships as the top five qualifiers would earn a spot to the national meet. It's also the second-straight year in which Lee has made the Zones final on platform. Among the athletes in the event, Lee had the highest average score at 6.3.
