No. 9 Lions Bring in FAU for Saturday Contest

The Columbia men's tennis team will play its lone home match of the month against the Owls at 1 p.m. ET on Saturday
NEW YORK — The No. 9 Columbia men's tennis team will play its lone home match of the month on Saturday, March 7, facing off against Florida Atlantic at 1 p.m. ET inside the Dick Savitt Tennis Center.

LAST TIME OUT
Columbia (6-3) returns to action after playing a pair of matches in Evanston, Illinois, last weekend. The Lions came back with a 6-1 win over DePaul on Friday, before falling to No. 34 Northwestern, 4-3, on Saturday. Against the Wildcats, Columbia rallied back from a three-point deficit as the match would come down to a third-set tiebreaker.
LIONS IN THE NATIONAL RANKINGS
Having been ranked in the top-10 in five-straight weeks, the Lions come in at No. 9 in the latest Oracle/ITA Division I Team Rankings released on March 3, while the Tennis Channel/USTA College Top 25 has Columbia ranked No. 14 in the nation.
Two singles players and one doubles team grace the ITA rankings released on March 3. In singles, No. 23 Jack Lin leads the way, followed by No. 100 Jackie Tang. In doubles, the two combine to form the sixth-ranked tandem.
SCOUTING THE OWLS
FAU (5-10) visits New York having played each of its last three matches against teams ranked inside the Oracle/ITA top-50. The most recent matchup saw the Owls fall, 5-2, at No. 33 UCF on Feb. 29. FAU got its two wins on singles' courts four and five from Yovan Lambros and Filip Krolo, respectively.
This will be the first-ever meeting between the two programs.
UP NEXT
The Lions return home next weekend to face Florida Atlantic on Saturday, March 7, at the Dick Savitt Tennis Center. The contest is set for a 1 p.m. start.
