NEW YORK—Columbia Athletics will celebrate its 150th Anniversary of Columbia Football with a social media and virtual initiative featuring three fan-friendly events, numerous historical feature stories, social media posts, fan interaction polls, and the selection of an All-150 Team. The celebration will run from September through the end of November.
As part of its #CUFootball150 Celebration, Columbia Football will host three fan-friendly zoom calls this fall: Homecoming Week Watch Party (Thursday, Oct. 22; Penn vs. Columbia, 2017), Interview With Offensive/Defensive/Special Teams Coordinators (Thursday, Nov. 5), and a 2015-19 Highlight Watch Party (Thursday, Nov. 19). All fans are welcome to join the scheduled events. Details on each virtual event will be available at a later date.
Columbia Athletics has designed a #CUFootball150 logo and will also debut a promotional webpage on www.gocolumbialions.com beginning on Thursday. The webpage will showcase stories, video, photo galleries, fan modules, promotions, merchandise, and social media content. Also, a variety of content is planned to be posted on Columbia Football social media accounts. This content will include interesting feature stories, historical top-10 lists, and social media posts featuring the legendary teams, players, coaches, facilities, moments, memories, wins, themes, and special occasions that have made up the last 150 years. All Columbia Football 150 content can be accessed on social media by using the hashtag #CUFootball150.
Fans are encouraged to submit their favorite Columbia Football memory or moment as select entries will be published on www.gocolumbialions in October and November. To submit your favorite Columbia Football memory or moment, click here.
Fans will also have the opportunity to vote for the Columbia Football All-150 Team. Information and details on how to vote will be announced at a later date. The All-150 Team will be announced in late November.

Columbia Football is the nation's third oldest college football program. Columbia took part in its first-ever football game on November 12, 1870, against Rutgers in New Brunswick, N.J.
Amidst continuing health and safety concerns due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, the Ivy League canceled all fall sports competition on July 8.
