Men's Golf Finishes 10th at UConn Invite at GreatHorse

First-year William Sung takes 15th with a six-over-par 77-74-71-222.
HAMPDEN, Mass.—First-year William Sung finished in 15th place and led Columbia to a 10th place finish at the three-day, three-round University of Connecticut Invitational at GreatHorse on Tuesday. Playing as an individual, Sung shot a six-over-par 77-74-71-222, while the Lions combined for a 40-over-par 295-307-302-904.

Sung improved with each round. On Tuesday, he moved up 19 spots in the standings with a one-under-par 71 which included four birdies on the day, including three consecutive on holes 7, 8, and 9. He finished the tournament with a team-best 10 birdies and began the day in 34th place.
First-year Wyatt McGovern concluded the three-day event in 24th place at eight-over-par 72-78-74-224. He shot an Even 72 on Sunday with birdies on holes 1, 8, and 12 and finished with two birdies in Tuesday's final round.
Sophomore Nathan Han also ended up in 24th place at eight-over-par 72-75-77-224. After shooting an Even 72 in Sunday's first round, Han holed two birdies on the front nine to finish the day at three-over-par 75 on Monday. He registered three birdies in Sunday's first round on holes 7, 13, and 17.
Junior Pat Healy concluded the invite in 41st place at 11-over-par 76-75-76-227, and sophomore Alvin Kwak finished in 61st place at 16-over-par 78-79-75-232.
Rhode Island took the team championship at 11-over-par 282-293-300-875 and Connecticut's Caleb Manuel won the individual title with an 11-under-par 70-68-67-205.
Sixteen teams competed in the event including Army West Point, Bryant, Columbia, Connecticut, Fairleigh Dickinson, Hartford, Hofstra, Iona, Lafayette, LIU, Navy, Rider, Rhode Island, Sacred Heart, St. John's, and Siena.
