Columbia Wraps Up 2021 With A Visit To Princeton/Penn

Columbia Volleyball heads to Princeton (Nov. 12) and Penn (Nov. 13) to wrap up the 2021 season.
PRINCETON, N.J. — One final weekend remains for Columbia Volleyball (5-17, 2-10 IVY) in 2021 as the Lions wrap up the season with a visit to the Princeton Tigers (14-6, 8-4 IVY) on Friday, Nov. 12 (7 p.m.), before heading to Penn (6-15, 3-9 IVY) to face the Quakers in the final match of the season on Saturday, Nov. 13 (5 p.m.).

THANKING THE SENIORS: Columbia honored the senior class ahead of Saturday's match with Dartmouth. Before the action began Isa Lamus, Shari Stenglein and Emily Teehan were all recognized on the court for the time and energy they have given to the program over the past four years.
Teehan was named Second Team All-Ivy League in 2018 and has a pair of Ivy League Rookie of the Week awards during that 2018 season. Stenglein has seen significant playing time during her senior season, racking up a career-high 303 assists so far this season, while Lamus returned from an injury suffered at the start of the 2019 season and she's recorded a new season-high in blocks, with 57 total blocks.
WEEKEND RESULTS: Last weekend the Lions hosted Harvard and Dartmouth on Morningside, dropping both matches in four sets. Noelle Foster led the Lions with a total of 29 kills over the two matches and Teehan added 26 kills in her final home weekend.
Stenglein added 76 assists over the two matches and Lamus smashed 19 kills and had two blocks in the final weekend at home for the Lion seniors.
LIONS IN THE IVY LEAGUE: Foster's offensive numbers have been leading the Lions and, in the league, she sits first in kills per set (3.94), total kills (311), total points (341.5) and points per set (4.32).
Cadence Gronski sits third in the league in assists per set (10.30), while Soah Franklin sits sixth in blocks per set (1.00) and fourth in total blocks (74). Vanessa Pan (3.89) sits fifth in digs per set and third in service aces per set (0.39). Pan's 31 total service aces places her first in the league, while Teehan has snuck into the top 10 in kills per set with 2.98 and points per set (3.22).
PRINCETON MATCHUP: Columbia and Princeton meet for the second time this season, with the Tigers having taken the previous match on Oct. 9 in straight sets. This will be the 58th all-time meeting between the two programs, with Princeton holding a 50-7 advantage.
The Tigers come into the match having beating Yale in straight sets on Nov. 6. The win in New Haven, Connecticut snapped a three-match losing streak that Princeton had been on. Princeton last won at home, again beating Yale, on Oct. 15.
Lindsey Kelly leads the league in assists per set (11.43) and sits fifth in the nation with those numbers. Elena Montgomery (12.08 attacks per set; 870 total attacks), Julia Schner (1.19 blocks per set; 86 total blocks), and Kelly (823 total assists) all lead the Ivy League in their respective offensive categories. As a team, Princeton is first in the league in assists per set (13.03) and kills per set (13.97) and they sit 15th in the nation in assists per set and 22nd in kills per set.
PENN MATCHUP: In what will be the 57th meeting all-time and second of 2021, the Lions and Quakers face with Penn having won the previous matchup on Oct. 8 in four sets. The Quakers own a 45-11 advantage all-time over the Lions.
Penn will face Cornell on Nov. 12 before hosting the Lions, and they enter the weekend with three a pair of loses. They last won at Harvard on Oct. 30 and last won at home on Oct. 2 in a match against Dartmouth.
Autumn Leak's 3.71 kills per set place her third in the Ivy League and her 3.94 points per set put her fourth in the League. Penn's total attacks (2,850) and total blocks (152.0) place them fifth in the league.
VENUE POLICIES: Fans must enter from the street level at the doors located at the southeast corner of 120th & Broadway. Fan capacity at Schiller Court at Levien Gymnasium is limited to 70 percent of the venue's listed capacity per University Task Force protocols. All fans 12 and older must show proof of vaccination upon entry. All fans are required to wear a mask at all times. All fans must also fill out a COVID-19 protocol attestation.
Admission to the game is free. Fans arriving to Schiller Court at Levien Gymnasium are required to adhere to Columbia Athletics' and Columbia University's venue protocols.
