Columbia Travels to Yale for First Road Meet of 2021

The Columbia Lions will meet the Yale Bulldogs Friday at 5:00 P.M.
NEW YORK -- For the first time this season the Columbia women's swim and dive team will hit the road, facing Yale on Friday, Nov. 12 at 5:00 P.M. in New Haven, Connecticut.
The Lions opened their season last weekend with a pair of dual-meets held at Percy Uris Natatorium. Columbia claimed victory over Penn in the season-opener, 158-142, before falling to Harvard the following day (115.5-179.5).
Sophomore Allerga Walker paced Columbia in both meets, recording the most individual points of any Lion on each day. Also making an immediate impact in their first collegiate outings were classmates Aziza Ganihanova, who won the 200 back event on Friday, and diver Alice Diakova who claimed first in both the one and three meter events against Penn.
Yale
Yale dominated UConn in its season opener, 201-91, last Friday in Storrs, CT. The Bulldogs touched the wall first in 15 of 16 events, going 1-2-3 in seven.
Senior Iszac Henig and sophomore Ava Franks captured two first place finishes a piece with Henig conquering the 100 and 200 freestyle events while Franks took both the 100 and 200 breaststroke.
Other winners included: Ally Bernier (1,000 freestyle), Lindsey Wagner(100 backstroke), Junseo Kim (200 butterfly), Ophelia Pilkinton (50 freestyle), Stephanie Shao (1-meter diving), Raime Jones (200 backstroke), Ashley Loomis(500 freestyle), Alex Massey (100 butterfly), and Stephanie Shao (1-meter diving).

From December 1-4 the Lions will compete at the ECAC Winter Championships.
