5 THINGS TO KNOW:
1. THE LATEST
• The Lions saw their three-game winning streak snapped by Massachusetts Saturday afternoon, 87-75. The Minutewomen built a 20-point lead in the first quarter and withstood Columbia's second-half rally. Abbey Hsu scored 19 of her team-high 24 points in the third quarter to chip into the lead and Columbia put together a 10-0 fourth-quarter run to pull the deficit to single digits. Sienna Durr's 3-point play made it a seven-point game, but the Lions turned it over on their next two possessions and UMass held on.
2. CROSSTOWN SERIES
• Monday night's game will be the first between Columbia and LIU since 2016, a game which the Lions won, 66-57, at Levien Gym. The Lions lead the series, 12-5, and have won the last four series contests. Columbia and LIU first met in 1987 and the Lions won each of the first seven contests through 2004. The two teams played against one another nine straight years from 2008-2016. Columbia is 7-2 all-time against the Sharks at home.
3. HSU'S HISTORIC QUARTER

The game prior, they also held a lead in the final minute before falling to Army, 74-71. Including those two games, LIU has had four games this season decided by nine points or less.
