Columbia Renews In-State Rivalry Sunday at Marist

Lions take their Top 50 scoring offense on the road, where they are 5-1 this season
NEW YORK – Columbia and Marist renew an in-state women's basketball rivalry for the first time in 19 years on Sunday, as the Lions (7-2) travel to Poughkeepsie to take on the Red Foxes (2-5). Tip-off from McCann Arena is set for 2 p.m. ET.

1. THE LATEST
• The Lions are coming off a thrilling home victory, 73-67, over Delaware on Thursday. The victory snapped UD's five-game winning streak. Columbia trailed by eight in the fourth quarter before going on a 14-0 run to take a 64-58 lead with 3:06 remaining. Delaware answered with the next seven, but Abbey Hsu came through with two go-ahead shots in the final stages, including a 3-point play with 38.1 seconds left that put the Lions on top for good.
• So far this season, Columbia's opponents are a combined 35-20 (.636), giving the Lions the 68th-toughest strength of schedule in the NCAA, solely based on wins and losses. Three of those opponents include Mizzou (8-0), Stony Brook (7-1), Delaware (6-2) and Clemson (4-3). Columbia defeated Delaware at home and Clemson on the road.
3. HSU-TER IN THE HOUSE
• Abbey Hsu is one of the most prolific shooters in the country. Entering Saturday, she ranked No. 1 nationally in total 3-point attempts (86), No. 2 in 3-point makes (33) and No. 5 in 3-pointers made per game (3.67). She is also No. 6 in field goal attempts (148), No. 9 in field goals made (62) and No. 6 in total points (172). All of those numbers lead the Ivy League.
• Among her Ivy League counterparts, Hsu ranks No. 1 in scoring average (19.1), No. 2 in 3-point percentage (.384) and No. 6 in field goal percentage (.419). Her scoring average is top 50 in the country.
4. FOURTH-QUARTER TEAM
• Columbia has outscored its opponent by a combined 204-152 through the fourth quarter and overtime this season (5.8 points per game). Five times this season, the Lions have won when entering the fourth quarter tied or trailing. Four of those occasions have come with the Lions behind (Clemson, Georgetown, Rider, Delaware).
• Some of the more memorable late-game performances this season include outscoring Davidson 21-12 over the final 10 minutes to earn an 87-78 win. Two days later, they trailed Clemson 69-60 entering the fourth quarter and outscored the Tigers 22-9 for an 82-78 victory. At Georgetown, Columbia outscored the Hoyas 24-14 in the two overtime periods to walk out victorious. This past Thursday, Columbia went down eight at the beginning of the fourth quarter against Delaware but used a 14-0 run to take the lead, outscoring the Blue Hens 23-11.
5. ABOUT THE RED FOXES
• Marist (2-5) enters having lost four straight. Two of those losses came in back-to-back games out west at No. 11 Arizona, 78-36, and Arizona State, 82-53. They returned home the Sunday after Thanksgiving and fell in a close six-point decision to Central Michigan. Lafayette slipped by the Red Foxes on Wednesday out in Pennsylvania, 53-50. Marist's last two losses have come by a combined margin of just nine points.
• Marist is led by Zaria Shazer, who is averaging a double-double of 11.4 points and 10.0 rebounds per game. The 6-1 forward also leads the team in blocks with a total of 12 through seven games. She ranks 14th in the NCAA in double-doubles (4), 29th in rebounds per game and 41st in total rebounds. Kiara Fisher (11.0) is the team's only other double-figure scorer. Fisher has a team-high 22 assists to her credit.
