PRINCETON, N.J.—Two Lions—first-year Taylor Zeng (fourth place) and senior Alexis Florio (eighth place)—led the Columbia Women's Golf team to a runner-up finish out of 12 teams at the Princeton Invitational Sunday at Springdale Golf Club. Columbia finished the three-round competition at 15-over-par 289-296-294-879. Final stats are available on Golfstat at this link.

Columbia's 54-hole total of 879 set a school-record for lowest invitational team score in school history. The mark bested the Lions' 886 shot at the River Landing Classic in spring 2015. The Lions entered Sunday's final round in a tie for third place but moved up two spots in the team standings after combining for a 294. After shooting a school-record tying 289 in Saturday's first round, Columbia found itself one stroke behind first-place and host Princeton, but the Lions cooled off in the second round with a 296. Columbia's 289 in the first round tied a school-record for lowest round as the Lions also shot a 289 at the 2016 Yale Fall Intercollegiate and 2006 Sea Trail Intercollegiate.

Zeng started Sunday in sixth place but continued her consistent play with a 71 to finish in fourth at Even 72-73-71-216. In Sunday's final round, Zeng registered back-to-back birdies on holes 2 and 3, and on hole 12, and totaled 13 pars for her career-low round. She finished the weekend with 38 pars, the second-highest individual total in the field. Zeng finished with five birdies on Saturday and was consistent with 25 pars.

Florio finished the three-round invite in eighth place at two-over-par 68-76-74-218. In Saturday's first round, she came out on fire as she used seven birdies to fire a career-low four-under-par 68. The 68 ties for the third-lowest round in school history. She registered birdies on holes 1, 2, 3, 9, 13, 14, and 17. After shooting a 76 in the second round, she evened out at 68-76-144. She concluded Saturday with nine pars, which ranks No. 3 in the field. On Sunday, she finished with two birdies to maintain a top-10 finish.

Senior Jennifer Wang concluded the weekend in 16th place at seven-over-par 74-77-72-223. She improved 19 spots on the leaderboard after Sunday's performance that saw her shoot a two-under-par 34 on the front nine and finish with four birdies overall.
