Born Anne Marie Walsh on January 29, 2002 in Salt Lake City, Utah … Daughter of Adam and Mondakini Walsh of Jamaica Plain, Mass. … Has two younger sisters—Lily and Emma … Mother earned a Master of Science degree from Columbia Teachers’ College in 1997 … Uncle Mark Walsh earned an MBA from Columbia Business School … Began playing golf with her two sisters when she was eight and immediately fell in love with the sport … For years her family spent every summer evening at the golf course and it remains a great way for her to spend time with her father … Grew up playing golf with fellow signee Allison Paik, current Lion Alexis Florio, and former Lion Amy Ding … Played the piano for six years … Played the violin for two years … Hobbies and interests include traveling, visiting museums, biking, and baking … Role model is her mother because she is hard-working, empathetic and always makes people smile … Became interested in Columbia after hearing her mother speak about how much she loved living in New York City … Chose Columbia because it was her dream school ever since she first visited New York City as a youth … Also because Columbia offers an unbeatable combination of academics, athletics, and location … The opportunity to study at such an intellectually renowned institution in New York City while playing golf under coach Amy Weeks is a dream come true for her.
