Davis, Henderson Sweep Ivy League Honors

Davis averages 13.0 points and 17.5 rebounds to pick up her third Player of the Week nod of the season
PRINCETON, N.J. – Columbia's Kaitlyn Davis was named Ivy League Women's Basketball Player of the Week for a third time this season, while first-year Kitty Henderson picked up her second Rookie of the Week honors. The league office announced its weekly awards early Monday afternoon.
Davis was nearly unstoppable, averaging 13.0 points, 17.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists 2.0 blocks and a 1.0 steal to lead the Lions to a 2-0 week over Cornell and Brown. The junior had a double-double in each game, upping her season total to six, beginning with 10 points and career-highs of 18 rebounds and five assists in a Thursday night home win over the Big Red. She followed it up with 16 points (7-15 FG), 17 rebounds, three blocks and a career-high-tying five assists in Saturday's, 60-52, road win at Brown.
Led by Davis and Henderson, the Lions are off to their first 4-0 Ivy League start in program history, as well as their best overall record through 16 games (13-3). The program officially began in 1984 after the creation of the Columbia-Barnard Athletic Consortium. Columbia's first season competing in both the Ivy League and at the NCAA Div. I level was 1987-88.
Winners of five straight, the Lions now get set to host Penn (7-9, 2-2 Ivy) this Wednesday night. Tip-off from Schiller Court at Levien Gymnasium is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET.

Combined with Hannah Pratt's 19 rebounds against the Bears, Davis and Pratt totaled 36 boards on Saturday, which are the most by two teammates in a single game in NCAA women's basketball this season. The Lions outrebounded the Bears, 64-39, in the contest, posting its most rebounds in a game since 1990 and finishing the week an impressive +20.5 in rebounding margin.
In being named Rookie of the Week, Henderson led the Lions in scoring at 14.0 points per game, while also averaging 8.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.5 steals through the two victories. A native of Australia, Henderson shot 8-of-17 (.471) from the floor, including 5-of-11 (.455) from the outside. She started her week with a game- and career-high 18 points (5-8 FG, 3-4 3-PT), along with seven rebounds, two assists and two steals to help lead the Lions past Cornell, scoring 12 of Columbia's 20 points in the third quarter.
