Lions and Badgers meet for the first time

WICHITA, Kan. – No. 4 seed Columbia (23-8, 11-3 Ivy) and No. 3 seed Wisconsin (16-17, 5-13 Big Ten) will face off in the Women's Basketball Invitation Tournament Semifinals on Monday at Charles Koch Arena. Opening tip is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. ET, 1:30 p.m. local.

Monday's winner advances to the WBIT Championship Game to take on the winner of the second semifinal between No. 1 seed BYU (25-11, 9-9 Big 12) and No. 2 seed Kansas (22-13, 8-10 Big 12).

GAME COVERAGE
• Krista Blunk and Tabitha Turner will have the call for both of Monday's semifinals, as well as Wednesday's title game. Both semifinals will be televised live on ESPNU. Wednesday's Championship Game will be televised on ESPN2 at 7 p.m. ET, 6 p.m. local.

• Westwood One Sports will carry a radio feed of Wednesday's Championship Game. Steve Strain and Pam Roecker will be on the call.

OPENING TIPS
• Columbia's road to Wichita has included a 48-point home win over St. John's, a 29-point road win at top-seeded North Dakota State, and a hard-fought 74-68 road win this past Thursday at California. In the WBIT, the Lions are averaging 78.0 points per game, shooting 50.3% from the field, outscoring opponents by 27.7 and outrebounding them by 12.3.

• Riley Weiss (21.7), Perri Page (20.3) and Mia Broom (17.3) are averaging a combined 59.3 points per game in the WBIT, which is nine points more per game than Columbia's opponents combined (50.3). Page is shooting 60.9% from the floor and averages a team-best 6.3 rebounds and 3.3 steals. Weiss is shooting 50.9%, including 42.1% from 3-point range. Broom has hit 47.6% (10-21) from deep, and is also averaging 5.3 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 2.7. steals. During the regular season, Broom averaged 6.4 points, 2.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 steals, and shot 32 percent from the field.

• AP All-America Honorable Mention and Ivy League Player of the Year Riley Weiss leads Columbia in scoring at 20 points per game. She broke Columbia's single-season scoring record in the win at Cal, and enters the WBIT Semifinals with 621 points. She ranks top 20 in the NCAA in scoring average and 3-pointers made per game (2.84). She is also the Ivy League leader in total threes (88), 3-point percentage (37.4%) and total field goals made (225).

• Ivy League Defensive Player of the Year Perri Page leads the league in steals (79) and steals per game (2.55). She broke Columbia's single-season steals record with four in Thursday's win at California, which was set last season by Kitty Henderson. Page and UConn's Sarah Strong are the only two players in the country to average at least 14.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.5 steals, 2.0 assists and shoot at least 50 percent from the field.

• This is Columbia's fifth straight national postseason tournament appearance. The Lions made their debut in the 2022 WNIT and advanced to the Great Eight. In 2023, they made a run all the way to the WNIT Championship Game against Kansas at Allen Fieldhouse. Columbia then earned its first NCAA Tournament bid in 2024, earning an at-large selection and falling to Vanderbilt in the First Four, 66-62. Last year, they earned another at-large bid and returned to the First Four to take on Washington. They rallied from 13 points down at halftime to take down the Huskies, 63-60.

• Columbia is 1-2 all-time against Big Ten opponents, earning its first such win in last year's NCAA Tournament. The Lions fell at Illinois, 76-69, in November of 2018, and fell to Iowa at the 2009 Nevada Nugget Classic, 72-69.

ROAD WARRIORS
• Columbia is 13-1 (.929) in true road games this season, which is the fifth-best road record in the country. Only UConn (12-0), UCLA (9-0), North Dakota State (12-0) and Louisville (9-0) are undefeated in such games.
• When including neutral-site games, the Lions are 14-4 (.778). They went 1-2 at the Cancun Challenge, defeating eventual Summit League Tournament Champion South Dakota State, 80-67. They also suffered a narrow, 95-92, loss to Kansas State and played UNC close, trailing by just two with 2:00 left in the third.
• Columbia won 16 straight true road games from Dec. 21, 2024 - Jan. 30, 2026, which was the longest active "away" winning streak in the country. The streak did not include "neutral" site games.
• The Lions went 12-0 in true road games during the 2025 calendar year and were the only team in the nation to post an undefeated record.
• Columbia defeated then-No. 19 Princeton, 73-67, on Jan. 30, 2026 to extend the streak to 16 games.
• Penn ended the streak with a 64-55 win over Columbia the next night, Jan. 31, at the Palestra.

THE ROAD TO WICHITA
• Since departing for their WBIT Second Round game at North Dakota State last Friday, March 20, Columbia has spent a total of just 41 hours in New York City. After defeating the Bison on Sunday afternoon, March 22, the Lions landed back in NYC on Monday, March 23, at 1:15 a.m. ET. They took off for San Francisco at 6:15 p.m. ET on Tuesday, March 24, earned a 74-68 win at Cal on Thursday night, March 26, and departed for Kansas on Friday, March 27. Columbia landed in Wichita on Friday at 5:30 p.m. local time. Over that time, the Lions have flown approximately 5,970 miles.

RECORD BOOK TRACKER
• Perri Page enters the game with 529 career rebounds. She became the 17th player in program history to reach 500 rebounds in the regular season finale against Harvard (Mar. 7). She is seven away from the top 15.
• Page broke Columbia's single-season steals record with her 79th in the win at Cal (Mar. 26). The previous mark of 78 was set last year by Kitty Henderson '25CC.
• Weiss's 621 points are a new single-season record. The No. 7 spot is owned by her as well, scoring 553 last season. Weiss, Camille Zimmerman '18CC and Abbey Hsu '24CC are the only three players to reach 600.
• Weiss (1,388) is No. 4 on Columbia's all-time scoring list. She passed Tori Oliver (1,337, 2013-17) in the WBIT First Round win over St. John's, and passed Kitty Henderson (1,350, 2021-25) in her 21-point game at NDSU.
• Weiss (495) is No. 7 all-time in field goals made.
• Weiss (227) is 10th in Ivy League history in three-pointers made. She passed Brown's Sophie Bikofsky (2001-05) in the win over NDSU (Mar. 22). The No. 9 spot is owned by Addie Micir (240, Princeton, 2007-11).
• Perri Page (160) is sixth all-time at Columbia in steals. She passed Megan Griffith '07CC (151) in the win over St. John's (Mar. 19). She is three steals from passing Shawnee Pickney (2007-11) and entering the top five.
• Susie Rafiu (51.7%) is No. 4 all-time in field goal percentage. Page ranks seventh (50.2%).

WEISS IS NICE
• Ivy League Player of the Year Riley Weiss is one of three players in the NCAA to score 38+ points in multiple games this season. The other two are Iowa State's Audi Crooks and Ohio State's Jaloni Cambridge.
• Weiss is the first player in the NCAA since Caitlin Clark (Iowa) and Madison Conner (TCU) to have multiple games with 9+ made threes in a single season. Clark and Conner did it during the 2023-24 season.
• In her 38-point performance at Cornell (Feb. 7), Weiss tied the Columbia record with nine made threes. It is the second time she has made 9+ threes in a game this season. The other came in her record-breaking 40-point performance against Dartmouth.
• Weiss is a finalist for the L'Cheisman Award, presented to the top Jewish athlete in the country by the Manischewitz Athletic Honors Society.
• Weiss earned six Ivy League Player of the Week selections, becoming the seventh player in league history to earn as many in a season. She is a two-time Met Basketball Writers Association Women's Div. I Player of the Wee, a USBWA Women's National Player of the Week in January, twice named an AP Honorable Mention Player of the Week (Feb. 17, Mar. 3), and named to the NCAA Starting 5 of the Week (Jan. 27).

ALL-AMERICAN BUCKET
• Riley Weiss was named an AP All-America Honorable Mention, as well as a Regional Finalist for the WBCA Coaches' All-America Teams. She is the third player in program history to earn All-America Honors, joining two-time All-American Abbey Hsu '24CC (2022-23, 2023-24) and Judie Lomax '10BC (2009-10).

SENIOR CAPTAINS
• Susie Rafiu and Perri Page are Columbia's only two seniors and co-captains. In their time at Columbia, the Lions have gone a combined 98-28 (.778), including a run to the 2023 WNIT Championship Game, Columbia's first NCAA Tournament selection in 2024, and first NCAA Tournament win in 2025.
• Entering the WBIT Semifinals, Rafiu has played in 107 career games and made 74 starts. She has totaled 646 points, 402 rebounds, 112 assists, 89 steals and 45 blocks. She ranks No. 5 in Columbia women's basketball history in field goal percentage at 51.0% for her career.
• Page has played in 110 games and made 60 starts in her career, including all 31 starts this season. She has totaled 910 career points, 529 rebounds, 160 steals, 141 assists and 29 blocks. Page ranks No. 6 at Columbia in career steals, No. 7 in field goal percentage (50.2%) and 17th in rebounds.

CALIFORNIA POSTGAME NOTES (Mar. 26) – WBIT Quarterfinals
• Columbia scored zero bench points. It's the first time the Lions won a game with zero bench points since March 24, 2022, when they took down Boston College, 54-51, in the Round of 16 of the WNIT.
• Cal's 51.0% shooting is the best by an opponent in a Columbia victory since the Lions defeated Washington in the 2025 NCAA First Four, 63-60. The Huskies shot 52.9% in that game.
• Mia Broom played the full 40 minutes for the first time in her career.
• Perri Page went 11-of-17 from the field, recording her third game of the season with at least 10 made field goals.
• Page matched her career-high in made field goals and hit a new career-high in attempts (11-17).

NDSU POSTGAME NOTES (Mar. 22) – WBIT Round 2
• Columbia's 56 points in the first half were its most in a half in program history. It was the team's first 50-point half since Dec. 1, 2022, when the Lions led Marist 54-23 at halftime and went on to win, 103-54.
• Three Lions scored 20+ points in the same game for the first time since March 1, 2019, when Janiya Clemmons (23), Sienna Durr (22) and Riley Casey (20) did it in a 93-62 win over Brown.
• Mia Broom hit career-highs in points (26), field goals made and attempted (10-20) and three-pointers made and attempted (5-9). Her previous career scoring high was 16 this season at Dartmouth (Feb. 21).
• Perri Page tied career-highs in field goals made (11) and assists (5), and had a career game shooting (11-14, 78.6%).
• Columbia shot 50% or better from the field for the ninth time this season.
• Hilke Feldrappe played a career-high 24 minutes
• Weiss tallied her 30th career 20-point game.
• Weiss (599) passed Ellen Bossert '86BC (598) for fourth on Columbia's single-season scoring list. She also moved to third on in single-season field goals (216).
• Weiss passed Kitty Henderson '25CC (1,350 points) for fourth on Columbia's all-time scoring list.
• Page climbed to second in single-season steals (75).

ST. JOHN'S POSTGAME NOTES (Mar. 19) – WBIT Round 1
• St. John's 26 points are the fewest allowed against a Division I opponent in program history. The previous record was 32, on multiple occasions, most recently in an 89-32 win over Dartmouth on Jan. 24, 2026.
• St. John's 26 points are the fewest in the three-year history of the WBIT. Columbia's 48-point margin of victory is the largest in tournament history.
• Columbia had 17 steals, forced 27 turnovers, and outscored St. John's 28-0 in points off turnovers.
• Columbia won its ninth straight game against a New York City opponent.
• Nasi Simmons had a career-high 10 rebounds off the bench. It marks the second time this season a Lion had 10+ rebounds off the bench (Mia Broom at Ohio, Nov. 9).
• Mia Broom tied a career-high with five steals.

• Since Megan Griffith became the head coach of the Lions in 2016, the program's motto has been "EDGE" which stands for "Energy, Discipline, Grit and Excellence."

Prior to the formation of the consortium, the women's basketball program competed at neighboring Barnard College as the Barnard Bears.

• The creation of the Columbia-Barnard Athletic Consortium in 1983 was an unprecedented endeavor. Made in tandem with Columbia's decision to become coed, a request to the NCAA allowed the two schools to form an athletic consortium, making Barnard the only women's college in the country whose students could compete on Division I athletics teams.

• Columbia currently has three players on the team who attend Barnard College: Hilke Feldrappe, Blau Tor and Alicia Mitchell.
