Men's Tennis Heads to Austin for ITA Kickoff Weekend

Columbia will face No. 5 Texas on first day of ITA weekend.
NEW YORK -- The Columbia men's tennis team will travel to Austin, Texas this weekend for the ITA Kickoff Classic, scheduled to run from Jan. 29-30. The Lions will first compete against host-team No. 5 Texas before facing either Oklahoma State or Oregon on Sunday.
Columbia will compete on the North Court against Texas on Saturday at noon EST. On Sunday, day one's winners will compete in the Championship Match on the North Court, while the Consolation Match will be played on the South.

Columbia's No. 12 Alex Kotzen will enter the weekend with the highest singles ranking of all contenders. He is joined in the ITA Singles Ranking by teammate No. 87 Hugo Hashimoto.
The Longhorns are headlined by 2021 Big Twelve Freshman of the Year, No. 20 Micah Braswell. In addition to Braswell Texas features two more ranked singles contenders, No. 73 Cleeve Harper and No. 105 Siem Woldeab, as well as the No. 23 doubles team of Woldeab and Eliot Spizzirri.
While Oklahoma State and Oregon do not feature ranked singles athletes, Oregon boasts the highest ranking doubles team of the competition, No. 17 Joshua Charlton and Quinn Vandecasteele.
