NEW YORK — Columbia (1-5-4, 0-0-2 Ivy) battles Princeton (4-4-1, 1-1-0 Ivy) in the front end of a soccer doubleheader on Saturday at Rocco B. Commisso Soccer Stadium. The men's game kicks off at 3 p.m.

WHAT TO KNOW:
BREAST CANCER AWARENESS
Both the men's and women's soccer teams will be showing their support in raising awareness for breast cancer this weekend. Fans can click here to help the Lions donate to the cause. The first 200 fans at each game will receive a pink silicone bracelet.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
First-year midfielder Joao Lima was named Ivy League Rookie of the Week on Monday. Lima scored the game-tying goal in last Saturday's 1-1 draw at Harvard. It was his second goal of the season in a pivotal moment. Trailing, 1-0, Lima scored the equalizer 10 minutes into the second half, which brought the score to its eventual final. Five of the rookie's six shot attempts this year have been on target, two of which resulted in goals.
Eight of Columbia's 10 games this season have been decided by a goal or less. Last year, 11 of Columbia's 16 matches came down to a single goal. This year, the Lions are 1-3-4 in those matches with a win over St. John's. The victory was Columbia's first in a one-goal affair since Oct. 29, 2019, when they defeated Fordham, 1-0. Between the 2021 and 2022 seasons combined, 19 of the team's last 26 matches have come down to just one goal.
COMPETING FOR CHAMPIONSHIPS
Columbia is on a quest for an 11th Ivy League title. The Lions are one of four schools in the league with at least 10 championships, the first of which was handed out in 1955. Columbia won its first Ivy title in 1978 and its last in 2016. Seven of Columbia's 10 championships have been outright, accounting for the third-most in the Ancient Eight.
THE SERIES
The all-time series between Columbia and Princeton dates back to 1912. Columbia holds a 33-25-11 advantage. Princeton took a 2-1 decision the last time the two sides met in New York in 2018.
