
MK Myklebust Scores in Overtime, Lifting Lions to Victory Against Lehigh

Gianna Cilluffo earns first career collegiate win
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – MK Myklebust scored in the 63rd minute, lifting Columbia field hockey (6-10, 3-3) to its second overtime victory of the season as the Lions took down Lehigh (11-7, 4-2) 2-1 in the final road contest of the year on Sunday afternoon.
The matchup with the Mountain Hawks was the final nonconference game of the season for Columbia. Shots were nearly even at 16-15 in favor of Lehigh. The Lions did put more shots on cage however, besting the Mountain Hawks 12-10 in that category.
Gianna Cilluffo, who entered the game at the start of the third quarter, recorded a career-high six saves and was credited with her first collegiate win.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Columbia fired off four shots in the opening quarter, two of which came off of the stick of Frederique Fyhr. The Lions carried the offensive momentum from the end of the first quarter into the second quarter. Columbia broke through shortly after the 20-minute mark.
Lindsey Yu scored her third goal of the season, getting the assist from Meredith Heaney. Columbia held the one-goal edge for the rest of half.
Lehigh netted the equalizer nearly five minutes into the third quarter. Cilluffo made five of her six saves in the third quarter, keeping the Lions' victory aspirations alive. All three of Columbia's shots in the fourth quarter were saved by the Lehigh goalie. Regulation ended with the score tied at one.
The Lions were granted a penalty corner at the 62:37 mark of the first overtime. Maya Walker added her third assist of the weekend, setting up MK Myklebust for the game-winner.
