WHAT TO KNOW:
IN THE POLLS
• Columbia (9-2) is receiving votes in the Associate Press Top 25 Poll for the first time in program history. The Lions received two votes in Monday's Week 6 edition. The program had played 956 games as an NCAA Div. I program over the course of 37 years before receiving their first votes. The Lions are the only Ivy League team receiving votes in this week's poll.
• Columbia has also been impressive in the NCAA's Net Rankings. Sunday, the Lions earned their highest NET of the season of No. 27. Columbia owns the highest NET in the Ivy League and the second-highest among all mid-major programs (Gonzaga). The NET Rankings are one of the tools used by the NCAA Selection Committee when evaluating teams for the NCAA Tournament.

SIX IN A ROW
• Columbia enters on a six-game winning streak, which is its longest since winning a program-record eight consecutive games last season. Last year's eight-game winning streak spanned from Dec. 13 - Feb. 4.
• The Lions are coming off an, 83-74, victory on Saturday at UMass (8-3). The Lions led by as many as 17 in the third quarter and maintained a comfortable advantage through the fourth. Abbey Hsu's career-high 34 points (9-11 3-PT) led the way.

• Abbey Hsu scored a career-high 34 points to lead the Lions in their most recent victory, 83-74, on Saturday at UMass. The junior from Parkland, Florida went 12-of-18 from the floor and was an incredible 9-of-11 from 3-point range. Her nine triples are the most in a single game in Columbia women's basketball history. She is also one of just four players in Ivy League history to make nine in a single game. Hsu owns two of the NCAA's top-five 3-point percentage games of the season, also going 7-of-8 (.875) earlier this month against Lafayette.
• Monday, the Ivy League named Hsu its Player of the Week for a second consecutive week. Columbia's leading scorer averaged 23.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.0 steals in wins over Stony Brook and the Minutewomen. Hsu was a combined 16-of-31 (.516) from the floor and 10-of-18 (.556) from beyond the arc. The award gave Hsu five in her career.

ROAD WARRIORS
• Columbia is 6-1 in true road games to start the season. Last year, the Lions went an incredible 12-1 in away games to boast one of the top-five road records in the country. If you go back to the 2019-20 season, the Lions are 22-2 in their last 23 true road games. Their only two losses came at Princeton and Iowa State.
THE OPPONENT
• LIU (2-8) has lost seven in a row entering Tuesday. Its most recent defeat came at the hands of Buffalo, 91-59, on Saturday. That being said, the Sharks have lost some close games, falling by seven to NJIT, 57-50, two to UC Riverside, 49-47, and three to Hofstra, 74-71. Last season, they went 9-18 with a 9-9 record in the NEC.
• Emaia O'Brien (11.5) and Ashley Austin (10.7) are the two Sharks averaging double figures scoring. Iris Mbulito is a force on the glass at 7.1 rebounds per contest. LIU will try to disrupt the Lions, averaging 9.5 steals per contest to rank among the top 100 in the NCAA. They have also been good at defending the 3-ball, holding opponents to a 25.7-percent clip.
