Columbia will recognize its 11 seniors during Saturday's meet.
NEW YORK -- The Columbia women's swim and dive team will honor its 11 seniors during Saturday's meet against visiting Dartmouth. Scheduled for an 11:00 A.M. start, the meet will take place at the Percy Uris Natatorium will limited fans as outlined in the Columbia Venue and Spectator Policy.
Head Coach Diana Caskey's graduating Lions include Kasey Karkoska, Yani Le, Madison Leblanc, Michelle Lee, Cleo Lim, Claire Lin, Lindsay Rispoli, Briget Rosendahl, and captains Clare Larsen and Mary Pruden. All eleven athletes have been integral members of the squad, competing for Columbia since 2018.
Columbia returns from a bye-week, in search of its third Ivy League dual-meet victory. Despite dropping their most recent meet to reigning league champions, Princeton, the Lions look to build upon a dominant victory over Cornell on Jan. 16. This meet saw Columbia claim first in all 14 swim events while collecting 11 complete podium sweeps.
Dartmouth (2-6, 0-5 Ivy) enters Saturday with a successful Tate Ramsden Invitational in its rearview. Competing at their home pool, the Big Green defeated Northeastern 181-155 and UMass 215-102 over the course of the two-day event. Senior Mia Leko headlined the first day of the event, taking first in the 500 free and 200 IM.
Leko set a new meet record in the 100 fly (55.24) while classmate Ashley Post touched the wall first in both the 100 and 200 free on Sunday. Off the boards, Alyssa Palacios won the three meter event with a Zone-qualifying score of 298.15. Teammate Isabella Lichen topped the one meter event followed close behind by Palacios in second; both hit Zone-qualifying marks.
Saturday marks the final dual meet of the season as the Lions travel Cambridge, MA for the Ivy League Championships from Feb. 16-19.
