
Demir Wraps Up Men's Swim Season at NCAA Championship

The first-year standout competed in a pair of events in Atlanta.
Atlanta, GA -- First-year Demirkan Demir competed in his second of two events on the final day of the 2022 NCAA Men's Swim and Dive Championships; effectively concluding the Lions' 2022 season. Demir qualified for the event after standout performances at the Ivy League Championship, including a winning swim in the 100 breast.
The rookie Lion recorded a 32nd place finish in the 100 breast on Friday (52.69) before improving to a 21st place result in Saturday's 200 breast with a program record-setting time of 1:53.29. Demir also holds the Columbia program record in the 100 breast (52.37).
