No. 43 Women's Tennis Drops 4-0 Decision to No. 30 Old Dominion

Jennifer Kerr and Shivani Amineni team to win No. 3 doubles match.
HARRISON, N.Y.—The No. 43 ranked Columbia women's tennis team dropped a 4-0 decision to No. 30 ranked Old Dominion Sunday afternoon at LifeTime Westchester. Columbia hosts No. 30 ranked Old Dominion on Sunday at 1 p.m. at LifeTime Westchester. The loss drops Columbia to 10-7 on the year, while Old Dominion improves to 12-6 overall.
Old Dominion took a 1-0 lead when it won two of the three doubles matches. Yuliia Starodubtseva and Sofia Johnson defeated Akanksha Bhan and Melissa Sakar 6-3 at No. 1 doubles, then Shahar Biran and Alesya Yakubovich defeated Winta Tewolde and Anna Zhang 6-3 at No. 2. Columbia's Jennifer Kerr and Shivania Amineni came away with a 7-6 (7-4) win at No. 3 doubles over Old Dominion's Alexandra Viktorovich and Tatsiana Sasnouskaya.
The Monarchs then went up 2-0 when Starodubtseva defeated Bhan 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 singles. Sasnouskaya followed with a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 2 singles over Anna Zhang, then Sofia Johnson won a 7-5, 6-3 victory over Melissa Sakar at No. 3 singles.
Columbia was leading in all three other singles matches when the match was clinched.
Columbia is back in action on at Miami, Fla. on Friday, April 1 at Hard Rock Stadium.
