No. 58 Lions to Play No. 6 Miami, Fla. on Friday

Columbia and Miami will play at Hard Rock Stadium as part of the Miami Open.
MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. —The No. 58 ranked Columbia travels to South Florida to face No. 6 Miami, Fla. on Friday at Hard Rock Stadium as part of the 2022 Miami Open. First serve is at 3 p.m.
In the latest ITA Tennis national rankings, Columbia comes in this week at No. 58. Columbia, No. 47 Princeton, and No. 67 Yale are the three Ivy League teams currently listed in the rankings. The Lions enter the weekend with a 10-7 overall record and 0-1 in Ivy League play. Miami, Fla. will be the eighth nationally ranked team that Columbia will face this year.
The Miami Open is one of nine ATP Masters 1000 Series events on the ATP calendar, a WTA 1000 event on the WTA calendar, and features the top men's and women's players in the world. The tournament is widely regarded as the most glamourous on the ATP and WTA calendars because of Miami's unique personality, thriving nightlife, five-star hotels and restaurants, beautiful weather and beaches, and celebrity appeal, as well as its close proximity to both Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach.

Nationally ranked singles players for the Hurricanes in the latest poll include Eden Richardson (46), Daevenia Achong (52), and Isabella Pfennig (64), and doubles teams of Achong and Richardson (20), Diana Khodan and Maya Tahan (62).
Next week the Lions get back into Ivy League play when they hit the road for a two-match road swing at Harvard (Saturday, April 9) and Dartmouth (Sunday, April 10).
