Box Score Storrs, CT -- The Columbia lacrosse team (2-7) dropped an 8-20 road result at UConn, granting the Huskies their eighth consecutive win (9-1). Off the bench, junior
Chandler Jean-Jacques produced her second hat trick of the season off five shots on goal.
First-year
Dani Falcone added another two tallies to her team-leading 15 goals on the season, scoring unassisted goals in the second and fourth quarters. Teammates
Ellie Taylor,
Katie Lutz, and
Rachel Graff found the back of the net once each. Senior
Kate Kelly dished out the Lions' lone assist.
On defense, rookie Julia Griswold forced three turnovers while scooping a ground ball. In net,
Simone Koryszewski turned away eight shots and paced the Lions in total ground balls (5).
Justine Decker followed Koryszewski with four ground balls on the afternoon.
The Lions went a perfect 17-of-17 in clears for the first time this season, edging the Huskies by one successful clear. Additionally, Columbia produced 22 ground balls to UConn's 17 while owning an advantage in turnovers (15 to 18).
Columbia will conclude its non-conference slate this Saturday, hosting San Diego State University on Rocco B. Commisso Field at 1:00 P.M..
