Three Lions Place in Top-20, Columbia Takes Fourth at Princeton Invite

Nathan Han leads Lions, takes eighth place at Even 72-71-70-213, DJ Francey and Wyatt McGovern finish in 16th place.
PRINCETON, N.J.—Three Lions—Nathan Han (eighth place), Wyatt McGovern (16th place), and DJ Francey (16th place)—each finished among the field's top-20 individuals as the Columbia Men's Golf team concluded the two-day Princeton Invitational in fourth place Sunday at Springdale Golf Club. Columbia began Sunday in fourth and finished the tournament in the same spot after combining for a five-over-par 285-288-284-857.
Han, who finished at even 72-71-70-213, moved up 10 spots in the standings on Sunday as he carded a one-under-par 70. He finished the final round with four birdies, including three on the back-9. He began the final round in 18th place. With his team-high 10 birdie performance, Han continues to lead the Lions in top-10 finishes (6), top-25 finishes (9), and par/under-par rounds (13).
McGovern and Francey both tied for 16th place at one-over-par 214. McGovern (71-71-72) concluded the tournament with nine birdies and 36 pars. He shot two-under on the first round's front nine.
Francey (72-72-70) led the Lions with 37 pars. On Sunday, he came on strong on the front nine with two birdies and six pars en route to his 70. In the end, he moves 12 spots up the leaderboard after beginning Sunday in 28th place.
Rounding out the Lions scorers were William Sung, who finished in 46th place at nine-over-par 76-74-72-222 and Daniel Core, who took 51st place at 10-over-par 70-74-79-223. Core's first round 70 marked the Lions' lowest round on Saturday after he fired birdies on three of four holes (3, 4, and 6) in the first round. Sung chopped his strokes down on each round and registered birdies on holes 15, 17, and 18 on Sunday.
Playing on its familiar home course, Princeton's A team won the team competition with a seven-under-par 283-277-285-845, while Princeton's William Huang took the individual title at 10-under-par 67-68-68-203.
Fifteen total teams participated in the event including Brown (club team), Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Georgetown, Harvard, Howard, Penn, host Princeton A, host Princeton B, Rider, Saint Joseph's, Seton Hall, Temple, and Yale.
The Springdale Golf Club has a par of 71 with a total yardage of 6,456.
Next up for Columbia is the 2022 Ivy League Championship, which is set for April 22-24 at Century Country Club in Purchase, N.Y.
